Children's Library Services Policies
Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult in the library.  
The selection of reading materials by children under the age of eighteen is the responsibility of the parents.

Request for Consideration of Materials

If you wish to request reconsideration of materials or resources, please complete and return a Request for Consideration of Materials form which can be obtained from library staff. This form maybe be returned to the Library Coordinator, Oregon County Library District, 20 Court Square, Alton MO 65606. A staff or board member will contact you. 

The Oregon County Library District does not provide child care;  children under the age of twelve will be required to have an adult present with them in the library.  

Circulation Policy-Printed and Audiovisual Materials
Materials such as books and magazines are loaned for a period of two weeks and may be renewed by contacting the librarian.
Reference materials are not to be taken from the library at any time. However, if a library has duplicates or older sets of reference books these may be checked out at the discretion of the librarian. Audiovisual materials (DVDs and VHS) are loaned for a period of one (1) week. 

Overdue Book Policy
Five cents for each day the library is open will be charged for all overdue materials with a maximum of $3.00 per item. Patrons will be required to pay for any materials not returned, lost or seriously damaged. Use of library materials may be denied or restricted if not returned at the end of three months. 

Animals in the Library

Animals other than guide/service animals are not permitted in the libraries.
